I begin the discovery and exploration process by keeping my eyes open to the environment around me. I use a camera to capture all of the intricate details of what I see. My inspiration might be found in a flower, a tree, a bridge, a skyline or building ... whatever grabs my attention by the way it blends naturally into its surroundings or seems curiously out of place.
Working with watercolor and acrylics for more than 30 years, Jim's artistic style ranges from photorealism to the more abstract. Jim Rigg is a regionally recognized artist who became interested in painting while taking art classes in high school. Jim has a Fine Arts degree from Wichita State University and has worked in the design field most of his professional career. Jim is currently the Art Director for the Educational Communications Center at Kansas State University and is actively involoved in the Kansas Watercolor Society. He has received numerous regional and national accolades for his work.
